Doris and Dicky Cheap Boutique Hotels Paris Hotel du Temps Blog

1. Hôtel du Temps, Gare du Nord

Our first hotel is conveniently located 10 minutes stroll from Gare du Nord train station - ideal if you’re arriving on the Eurostar and want something close by. We loved the art deco vibe at Hôtel du Temps, with amazing fabrics and kooky light features running throughout. It’s a relatively new boutique addition to the Paris scene and has a rather fresh feel. Rooms are small, which is a standard feature for Paris but they are light and airy thanks to big windows and there’s a great little bar for your nightcap. A great choice.

2. Hôtel Palm, near Opéra

Nearby - Hôtel Palm is also a great value spot not far from Gare du Nord. The hotel is modern, simple and stylish with plenty of palms throughout. Oh, and if you're lucky, you might get a room with a distant Eiffel Tower view. With the friendliest of staff, it’s truly great value for something so central.

Doris and Dicky boutique Hotel 20 Prieure Under 100

2. Le 20 Prieuré Hôtel, Oberkampf

Moving south east, our next hotel is located in Paris’ 11th arrondissement, a short walk from the chic boutiques and bars of the Marais. Luckily the hotel is located on a quiet enough street that you’re still able to get a good night’s sleep – just request a non-street facing room when you book. Design-wise, it’s straightforward, modern and very clean indeed. Beds are wonderfully comfortable and staff very friendly.

Doris and Dicky Hotel Design Sorbonne Paris Double Room Executive copy

3. Design Sorbonne

Crossing the River Seine, the Hôtel Design de la Sorbonne is located in the heart of the lively Latin Quarter. The hotel has a modern Marie Antoinette feel, with some seriously dramatic colour schemes - think bright greens, neon pinks and even a mural that winds it's way up the staircase. Things are compact here, so expect relatively cosy rooms but, no matter, we expect you'll spend most of your time roaming the streets.

Address: 6 Rue Victor Cousin, 75005 Paris, France

Nearest Metro Station: Cardinal Lemoine and Cluny Sorbonne (both 5 minute walk)

Cost: Rooms from £95 per night

5. C.O.Q Hotel

A little out of the centre of town is our last (and by no means least) gorgeous Parisian budget boutique hotel. Set in the up and coming 13ème, C.O.Q Hotel (an acronym for Community of Quality) offers incredible design, a buzzing bar and unbeatable value. There’s a lovely villagey feel to the area with the cobbled streets of Butte-aux-Cailles a 15-minute walk away.

Address: 15 Rue Edouard Manet, 75013 Paris, France

Nearest Metro Station: Place d'Italie

Cost: Rooms from £90 per night
